2001 Montreal International Footbag Net Championships – Results – Videos

In 2001 we had a real good turnout at our annual footbag net tournament. The playing field was fierce and the 2 finals matches were tight and exciting. Let’s see what Martin Côté, one of the organizers and graphic artist had to say:
”Hi everybody!
Here are the results of last weekend “El Championnat de Footbag de Montreal”
This year i used our major sponsor “El Zaz Bar” logo to illustrate the t-shirt. Their mascot has a kind of “Pancho Villa” look. So, it was fun to do the design with something else that a straight footbag player.
After spending a week in the rain prior to the tournament, the weather finally cleared up for the weekend. So, there was no mud festlike the year before. We had the honor to have quite a few good players from out of town which is always fun, and our local Alexis Deschenes which haven’t seen his homeland for two years, I would guess.
We were treated this year of one of the best doubles final matches that I’ve seen. Yves and Alexis played an amazing match against Manu and Patrick. There were lots of spiking and lots of digging. It’s on tape, so some will have the chance to see it maybe during worlds.”
