AKISPHERE 2023 Action Pack from Pro Kicker

As traveling was still a complicated proposition in 2023, the Akisphere was strictly a local affair. It is important to note that Aki Québec was celebrating the 15th edition of the Akisphere. After organizing the Montreal tournaments for 20 years, I was happy to hand over the floor to a group of passionate young people who took charge to keep the tournament alive since 2009

Nonetheless, the caliber of play was great as usual. Some newer players grabbed serious competition experience. In that regard, Zack Bourdeau-Pouplier shined with second places in all three events, singles, doubles and mixed.

François Depatie-Pelletier continued on his winning streak from 2020, 2021 and 2022 in doubles.  Frank the Tank teamed up with Manu Bouchard to masterfully clean up all competition.

Luka Weyler-Lavallée had a great tournament with wins in singles, against Zack, and in mixed doubles with his partner Maude Landreville. The pair would follow up with a victory at the World Championships a few weeks later in Colombia. Luka and Zack also made it all the way to the finals in doubles, losing an exciting match to François and Manu.
